Reign is an upcoming period drama television series created by Laurie McCarthy that will air on The CW during the 2013–14 American television season.The series follows the early years of Mary, Queen of Scots, in 1557 France.
The pilot was mostly shot in Ireland and the leading roles are played by Australian, Canadian, and English actors. A large part of the filming for the first series will take place in Canada.
In the United States it will air on Thursdays, in the 9/8c timeslot following The Vampire Diaries.Reign will have its series premiere on October 17, 2013.

The Originals is an upcoming American television series that will air on The CW during the 2013–14 American television season. The series sneak peek premiere will air after The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, October 3, 2013, then a week later on October 8, 2013, it will begin airing on Tuesdays in the 8:00 pm Eastern (7:00 pm Central) in its regular timeslot where it will lead in Supernatural.
Synopsis
A spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and set in New Orleans, The Originals centers on the Mikaelson siblings, otherwise known as the world’s original vampires: Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt). It was revealed during the backdoor pilot, aired on April 25, 2013, that recurring character Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is pregnant with Klaus’ child.Now Klaus must take down his protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who is now in charge of New Orleans, in order to re-take his city, as he originally built New Orleans. Klaus departed from the city after being chased down by his father Mikael, while it was being constructed and Marcel took charge. As Klaus has returned after many years, his ego has provoked him to become the king of the city. “Every King needs an heir” says Klaus, accepting the unborn child. The child is a first to be born to a hybrid (part vampire, part werewolf) and a werewolf (Hayley).
